We Can Do It! (And we did!)
We did it! Washington just became the second state in the nation to pass Paid Family Leave this past Tuesday when the Governor signed the bill into law. And this is all because of YOU, the members of MomsRising, and our policy partner organizations! But, we're not stopping with Washington--we're working to roll paid family leave across the country, and American families are counting on us. You can do it in a kayak
Last night my family and I ran around with a video camera taping all the places people can make reminder to vote calls. It was fun. A bit embarrassing (well a lot embarrassing!). But it's for a good cause--the election is literally just around the corner--and my kids had a good time figuring out where to film like in the kayak, up in a tree, and other wacky places.

The First & Last VP Debate: This Soccer Mom Isn't Buying
The other night, as the first and only vice presidential debate was starting; I was scrambling to get to my car from a rainy soccer field where I'd been standing on the sidelines with other parents while watching kids play. Jumping over mud puddles and dodging fast moving vehicles in the parking lot, my two soccer-playing kids and I scurried to the warm dry safety of our car.
About last night...
Sometimes our kids know more than we do. Children know that if they keep asking their parents the same question, over and over, they might just get the answer they are looking for.
